Insight Bordeaux

The product Bordeaux probably is most known for are the great wines. Bordeaux has been producing and exporting wines since the 8th century. And is also the host for the biggest wine-event in the world the Vinexpo. Here all the ins and outs, the new wines, tricks and techniques are displayed to the public.

Wines Bordeaux is really famous for are the following, Red Bordeaux, generally made from a blend of grapes and may be made from Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, Malbec, and, less commonly in recent years, Carmenere. White Bordeaux is made from Sauvignon Blanc, Semillon, and Muscadelle. All these wines are made by a traditional recipe which hasn’t changed much since the beginning of the production of the wines. The Bordeaux region in which the wine is produced is divided in several sub regions. In these sub regions a few of the world most expensive wines are produced.

Bordeaux is also a very popular student city. With over a 100.000 national and international students it’s the place to be for an international student such as yourself. To come to Bordeaux to study or to do an internship means taking part in an experience you’ll never forget. The city has four universities devoted to natural science (Bordeaux I), medicine (Bordeaux II), the liberal arts (Bordeaux III) and political sciences and law (Bordeaux IV). Bordeaux II is located in the city centre, while the other three were relocated in the 1960s to Domaine Universitaire, a vast campus located in the communes of Talence, Pessac and Gradignan. All four of the universities are beautiful both to study in or just to visit for a day.
